In 1979, at only 20 years of age, Bob Crawford started
his own contracting business. R.E. Crawford Construction first served
the needs of the commercial industry in the western Pennsylvania
market. His early determination to provide high quality workmanship
while meeting the most demanding schedules quickly drew national
attention. Demand for Mr. Crawford’s capabilities necessitated
his expansion from a skilled hands-on-doer; to a successful manager of
what is today a multi-million dollar a year corporation. His dominance
in the northeast market led him to open another office in Sarasota,
Florida in September of 1997. The growth of R.E. Crawford Construction
in the past 25 years has been credited to Mr. Crawford’s determination
to be the best contractor, hire the best people, and build the best

Mr. Crawford is very involved in every aspect of the operations of the
